Why do they hate Sarah Palin?

September 13th, 2008 by Angela | Filed under Ramblings.

Here’s a double whammie for you guys. 1st we have a YouTube video of Laura Ingraham on my not-so-favorite show anymore: The View. 2nd we have a piece that Laura wrote for her subscription e-blast off her web site. Be sure and check out her site, subscribe to the e-blast and if you’ve never listened to her before, you might want to think about trying her out at least 5 times before you make up your mind.

IMPALIN’ THE LEFT

Why do they hate her? What is it about Sarah that is driving left-wing elites to say the most idiotic and bizarre things? Since her explosive arrival onto the political scene, Palin has endured far more than the customary and expected vetting and scrutiny.

Obama underlings and their dinosaur media apparatchiks have dug through her garbage, rifled through her dirty laundry, and interviewed every friend, foe, and caribou in Alaska. She has been (falsely) branded a book-burner, a religious zealot, “anti-women,” and “anti-science.”

Today’s Washington Post claims that Gov. Palin falsely equated Saddam Hussein with the 9/11 hijackers at the ceremony yesterday seeing Alaska troops off to Iraq. In reality she said they’d soon be taking on forces aligned with those who hit us on 9/11 – an obviously true statement. Al Qaeda in Iraq is part of Al Qaeda, and it’s been a coon’s age since Saddam Hussein was fighting this war.

Then came Charlie…er…I mean Charles Gibson. The ABC News star tried to jettison his nice-guy image in the first interview with Palin and ended up coming off like a pedantic snob. Aside from tripping up on the Bush Doctrine (she explained it as his general worldview, as opposed to the doctrine of preemptive military action), she acquitted herself well.
Sorry, Charlie.

In the past two-weeks, Obama-friendly columnists and commentators have questioned Palin’s fitness as a mother. CNN, NBC and the other left-wing media outlets have expended more man-hours looking into Palin’s faith than they did in two years looking into Barack Obama’s. My personal favorite, though, is actor Matt “Bagger Vance” Damon saying that the mere possibility of Vice President Palin was like a “bad Disney movie.”

The vitriol is so over-the-top that it is having a boomerang effect. As the attacks over the last two weeks have intensified, the McCain/Palin poll numbers have shot up. Today’s Gallup numbers show for the first time in years Republicans winning a generic congressional ballot among likely voters. Elites from Los Angeles to Manhattan are sensing that their chance at a political utopia may be slipping away.

Sarah Palin’s entire existence is a refutation of everything the left holds sacrosanct. They champion abortion rights, she stands for life, personally and politically. They think the redistribution of income is indispensable to achieving “economic justice.” She sees it as their means to grow government and penalize prosperity. They look at America and see a collection of oppressed minorities. She sees America as the land of opportunity. They believe we need to do more to court “world opinion.”

She’s not embarrassed over having little use for Europe.

It is not enough for them to beat Sarah Palin, they must destroy her.

It’s a long way ’til November 4th, but I’m betting on the gal with the double-barreled shotgun and camouflage ski jacket. – Laura Ingraham

I LOVE Laura Ingraham! She is another smart, intelligent, conservative woman!

I love her lie of the day!

I love the lie of the day too.

My other favorite of hers is the butt monkey!

“Why do they hate Sarah Palin?”

    She molests little boys.

  4. Shane says:

Well, I guess I should’ve known what I was going to read from someone who watches the view. You see, voters should be aware of the views that candidates hold on the issues. Unfortunately, issues have been made largely irrelevant in the past 8 years as lies and deceipt have proven much more effective.
As for the boomerang effect, it’s was obviously going to happen as the right lead by KRove and his black sorcerers have brainwashed much of the USA into ingnoring the pleas from the left for sanity. Well, have fun with 4 more years of McBush, my fingers are crossed that you really don’t need the rest of the world.

  5. angela says:

@ptg – Where do you find these nut jobs?

@shane – We’ve been paying close attention to the issues and what the candidates are saying about them. Where have you been? In case you haven’t heard… George Bush is leaving the White House and John McCain and Sarah Palin are going to turn Washington D.C. upside down. NOBama and his running mate have no clue how to do that. Go Figure!?

  6. CharlesGibsonSucks says:

Charles Gibson is a fucking deutsch bag with that Bush Doctrine question. Any competent interviewer would have defined the question in a non ambiguous way. Sara should have responded with something in the lines of “Charles that question is quite ambiguous would you define this in a clearer manner, or do you expect me to read your mind on how you define what the Bush Doctrine is. Also while I’m at it do you want me to give you the meaning of life?”

  7. Becki says:

Angela… email me! I got you a goody and I need an address to send it to!

I left you an offline on yahoo, but you may not have gotten it.

  8. Nick says:

I was excited when I heard Palin was selected as McCain’s VP, not really because of her credentials, but because she was a woman. Now we can’t lose! We either get the first black President, or the first female vice president. Either way, history is being made. More importantly, I think Palin would do a good job as Vice President. She seems capable.

  9. angela says:

@CharlesGibsonSucks – She should have given her first interview to Fox News. But I can understand why she would go ahead and do ABC first.

@Becki – Ok, I’ll shoot you an e-mail with my address. No problem! =]

@Nick – Well I hope that history is made with the most qualified team to run the country which is the McCain/Palin ticket!

  10. Matt Bower says:

So im not being sarcastic or attacking Sarah Palin in any way. I honestly dont know how much experience she has, honestly. This is pretty much what i’ve read.

Mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, a town of less than 8000, and two years as governor of alaska?

How long was she mayor of Wasilla?

again..not attacking her in any way..honestly wanting to know…

  11. Tracy says:

Why do they hate her?? Simple!! Because FINALLY a woman actually has a VERY good chance of being one of the two leaders of the most powerful and most free country on the face of the earth, BUT her views are the exact OPPOSITE of everything the democratic party stands for. She’s AGAINST abortion, she’s AGAINST income redistribution, she’s AGAINST big government, and she’s a devout Christian.
    They can’t stand it!!
They were hoping the first woman in the white house would be a flaming femi-nazi and they’re not going to get it.

  12. Nathania Johnson says:

@Matt Bower – Palin was Mayor for 8 years, and before that she was a City Council woman of Wasilla for 4 years.

Her last year as Mayor was 2002. In 2003, She was appointed as Chair of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission for a year. She resigned in protest over the corruption that was taking place within the Commission.

  13. Matt Bower says:

    k thanks!

@Tracy – I agree with you on Hillary. I couldnt stand her personally. Ill be voting for Obama…and still..i can’t stand her. Just the way she presents herself. A lot of her verbal attacks on Obama AND McCain were just straight up uncalled for. Debates were painful to watch because of all of her interrupting, down right low attacks, and just her pissy attitude.

  14. moms4palin says:

obama was in office 76 days before he announced he was running for president.

  15. angela says:

@Matt – I think if you dig a little you’ll be able to find out just how much more experience the republican vice presidential nominee has over the democratic presidential nominee. Oh and Obama voting present is just as bad as not showing up to vote at all. I know you can do it Matt.

  16. CharlesGibsonSucks says:

I see McCain as a one term president, if elected at the end of this first term he would be 77 and if he did two terms 81. BUT if groomed properly McCain could do one term and set up Palin for a two term run as the US’s first female president (and the republicans could have 5 terms as president)

  17. CharlesGibsonSucks says:

why is’t my comment showing “Your comment is awaiting moderation”

The question you should be asking is WHAT do the PRESIDENTIAL candidate have for qualifications

    Palin and Alaska
    GDP (2005) $39,314,000,000
    $6.6 billion operating budget
Total employees state & local government (2005) 51,720

What is the largest budget that Obama has been responsible for?
What is the largest numbers of employees that have served under his direction?

  18. Matt Bower says:

haha no, its not even close to not voting at all. If you dont vote i dont want to hear one complaint out of your mouth about anything that happens in this country. If you vote for someone..go at it. And sorry…im stuck on Obama =) I went out the other weekend and volunteered and went door to door! i was surprised by the number of Obama supporters in a few of the wealthy neighborhoods we went to.

  19. angela says:

    I’ll repeat the questions:

What is the largest budget that Obama has been responsible for?

What is the largest numbers of employees that have served under his direction?

  20. CharlesGibsonSucks says:

The Nation Guard from Alaska was deployed to Kuwait some time in November the best that I can tell. Palin visited her troops in Kuwait on or around July 24-27. Keep in mind that as governor Palin is ONLY responsible for Nation Guard from Alaska.

Palin was not nominated VP till GOP convention on September 1-4

Question when did Obama visit US troops?
Was it BEFOR or AFTER he was nominated for President?

Charles Gibson have YOU ever visited Iran or Kuwait?

Obama is a proponent of universal health care how is he going to pay for this?
Obama health care FAQ says “by allowing the Bush tax cuts to expire for people making more than $250,000 per year”
Is this just for people making over $250,000 or all the Bush tax cuts?
If it’s all the tax cuts does this include…
Changing the tax bracket from the current structure of 10, 15, 25, and 33 percent back to tax rates of 15, 28, 31, 36, and 39.6?
Changing the child tax credit from $1000 back to the old deduction of $700 or under?

    Should I even go on?

The current government including both the Democrats and the Republican have showed that the government is incapable of managing large sums of money and large government programs by there gross neglect of Social Security.

What safe guards are going to be put in place so that Universal Health doe not become the next bankrupt Social Security?

If the government has shown that they are incapable of managing Social Security why should we let them manage our health care?

    My post got flip flopped…
Obama is a proponent of universal health care… should have been first.
The current government including … should have been next

I was technically answering my known questions.
    Maybe the questions were rhetorical.

  25. angela says:

At this point in time I don’t believe our government can handle Universal anything.

We already have WAY too much government prying into our personal financial affairs.

It’s up to the people of this country to take care of business and do what needs to be done in order to make this country work right.

  26. steve says:

Um…reality check. WE hate Palin because she’s not fit to lead this country. Period. Choosing her was a political ploy and we ALL know it. And many are upset with McSame for it. “Country First.” Hmmmm…in this case, it was “I can’t run on any issues, so let’s do something that’ll give us a chance to win, and THEN figure out what’s best for the country.”

The number of qualified people who were passed over is staggering. Just think about it. This is like the CEO of a corporation looking for a VP and choosing the night maid instead of someone who has worked for the company for 20 years and who actually knows something about it.

But, at the end of the day, she’s a liar and I can’t go with that. Her first lie was told within 3 minutes of her acceptance speech. 3 minutes! Yikes!

  27. steve says:

Damon was right. It would be like a bad Disney movie. It’s like a bad horror movie right now.

Stand up, tell the truth, be an adult. If McCain/Palin would do that for a while, I’d give them my consideration. Seriously. I’m very disappointed in them. Feels like Rove was their teacher on this one and it’s a shame.

  28. Burg says:

Why is it that when a liberal doesn’t like something they just scream “LIAR!!” then duck and run?

This is all garbage and they’d be complaining no matter who was chosen.. Biden has come right out and said NObama should have chosen someone else.. Yesterday he disagreed with an ad from his own camp.. I’m beginning to think that it’s Biden and not Palin who has this election in the bag for the Republicans.. Thanks a lot Joe!

  29. Tracy says:

Choosing her was a political ploy and we ALL know it.

Well, of course it was. 90% of politics is “political ploys”. Just like the DEMS choosing Obama as their guy for ticket was a “political ploy”. The first black President– MAJOR political ploy.
The same argument you used for Palin (the number of qualified people who were passed over is staggering) can be said for Obama. If you’re all wound up about HER experience, then Obama should be giving you a heart attack. He’s LESS qualified than Palin is. At least she’s RUN something before. As Mayor, then as Governor. Obama hasn’t even done that. In fact, when he WAS put in charge of something, (being chairman for a Foreign Relations subcommitee) he never ONCE held a meeting. And he only attended ONE meeting for the full Foreign Relations committee– that came AFTER the critique for his failure to ever meet with his committe (which by the way– the critique was made by Hillary Clinton) and AFTER he’d already started his campaign. He didn’t even make a CHOICE on several issues, didn’t even vote– just said he was “present” at the meeting.
Biden as a choice was a “political ploy” as well. The number one critique of Obama, even by many notable democratic pundits is his incredible lack of experience. So they purposely picked a old-timer Washington insider as his running mate.
So was Palin as VP running mate a ploy? Sure it was. She’s a woman, and she’s young.
BUT she also made a real name for herself as Governor by getting rid of wasteful spending, cutting out corruption in Alaskan politics (even those in her own party) and was also top dog over the Alaskan National Guard.
And it dang sure proved to be a SMART ploy.

  30. angela says:

Steve, you’re just ticked off because Obama didn’t pick Hillary who would never be able to fit the good-ol-boy mold in Washington. She will always be known as the woman who was married to the President who got caught with his pants down in the oval office.

Sarah Palin has done more for the state of Alaska than Obama has for the state of Illinois. Come on… what has Obama done? Show up to vote present? He can’t even pick a side OR vote yes/no without having to consult with his advisers… his moral support… his mentors… and we all know about THAT! You can’t even come out and say what Sarah Palin lied about… come on! You keep saying that Sarah Palin is a liar but you don’t come out and say what you think she lied about.

Quite frankly… I’m fed up with our government in the current state that it’s in from ALL sides. I’m pretty upset at the fact that we are supposed to pay for our government to bail out crooks in the banking industry and on wall street. No Thanks! Government has no business bailing anybody out. And from what I’ve seen of Sarah Palin’s camp, it doesn’t sound like anything she would stand for either. Obama and Biden of course are more concerned about fitting in with the Washington elites. It’s the politicians that should pay for this crap since it’s pretty obvious they aren’t doing their jobs correctly. They get voted into office and then they want to bail out wall street. Whatever!

Nobody should be getting bailed out of anything. If you are a bank and you gave a loan out to somebody that clearly couldn’t pay for it then shame on you! If you are somebody that thought you would see if the bank would give you a home loan just for shits and giggles but knew you wouldn’t be able to totally afford it… and took the loan upon approval… then shame on you too!

When Don and I were looking for our home the bank tried to get us to look at houses that were far too expensive in our eyes… but boy where they anxious to give us that loan. We had to tell them that we would not go above a certain amount and that would be final. It’s a good thing that we are smart enough to realize what we can or can’t afford to do.

And if we couldn’t live in a house then we would be in a town house OR an apartment OR possibly a rental property. That’s just the way it is until you figure out what’s going on with your own finances.

Banks don’t take anything into consideration when it comes to charity donations, tithing, utilities, expenses, etc. They don’t care! They just want money to circulate… and now we have crooks on wall street gambling with our funds and real estate companies trying to make that sale no matter what it takes to grab that number for the quarter. Whatever!

I want somebody like Sarah Palin who seems to be the under dog these days. She believes in many of the same things I do, has a family and is just as disgusted with the corruption going on in this country as much as I am.

I’m starting to think that people that hate Sarah Palin are just plain dumb! They are not looking at the meat of what she’s done. They are looking at the cover of a book. They are too afraid to open it up and READ.

And since you are so empathetic with Obama and his loser criminal friends then maybe Steve, you should start some sort of crusade to free the people that are in prison for the long term that have not killed OR raped anybody. Why don’t you flock to that idea since you think people are so easily reformed.

  31. ptg says:

Angela, et al.: the issue in the coming presidential election isn’t about Sarah Palin; these cats posting about ‘hating’ her are pulling a red herring across the path. The real issue is whether or not we want a Marxist in the White House.

All this stink about Sarah Palin is a smokescreen. Don’t be fooled. Marxist thought has ruined more countries, destroyed more lives and killed more people in the last century than any other political system, bar none. Obama is a Marxist.

As for her inexperience, Teddy Roosevelt, McCain’s role model, ran on the Republican reform ticket as vice president in 1900. He had been governor of a state for less than 2 years. He was only 42 years old, liked to hunt and had a mess of kids.

Don’t let these commie dupes get you to take your eye off the ball by acting like sexist hypocrites. They don’t even believe what they say, as they know Obama has no experience at anything and Biden is an old school Senate idiot.

  32. angela says:

Thanks for pointing that out PTG. I couldn’t agree more!

  33. CharlesGibsonSucks says:

    @steve and @Matt Bower

On Sep 17, 2008 I provided FACTS and DOCUMENATION to back up my positions regarding Palin’s experience and qualifications. It is to be noted on October 1,2008 you sill have not provided AMY data to support your position.

The reason you have not provide any data is that there is NONE.

Obam is NOT qualified to be President of the United State.

BUT he is qualified to be Vice President.

  34. angela says:

@CharlesGibsonSucks, it’s definitely hard for them to make a point without providing the facts. They probably aren’t even reading because they gave up and threw up their hands.

  35. Belinda Luscombe of TIME thinks she knows why
“Why Some Women Hate Sarah Palin”
    1. She’s too pretty.
    2. She’s too confident.
    3. She could embarrass us.

Belinda goes into details regarding her reason in the TIME piece, all of which I think are bull shit. Belinda never really address whether or not she is qualified, it sounds more like a rant from a jealous high school girl, mad that she never got to hang out at the “popular kids table” during lunch

The way that the far left media has treated Sarah Palin has been obnoxious.

Instead of asking her questions that are relevant to what her and John McCain’s plans are for the country, they want to ask her stupid questions that have nothing to do with their race to the White House.

It’s because they can’t dig up any garbage on her. They can find NOTHING. They have nothing legit to go on vs. all the bad company that Barack Obama likes to keep.
