What a wonderful idea! I’m quite fond of making up little toiletry packs, soap shampoo toothpaste etc when I can to go into food hampers, as sometimes, having been a homeless person myself briefly I can say this, the ability to access ablutions and dignity can be the difference between a good day and a bad day,not for everyone I know, but often overlooked.
Hadn’t thought of the undies but great idea.
Definitely undies in one piece makes a difference.. I still wear them til their holey now, (read lazy) and I know I sure feel better when I get a new pair!!! :-)

Oh me too Cat! I always feel like a new person when I have new undies to wear. Thanks for the encouragement on the project.

Open Door Mission here in Omaha faithfully provides this service and does their best to try and get people involved. I think it’s a great idea and I LOVE helping to spread the word on projects such as this one because I think it empowers every day regular people that don’t know what they can do to make a difference to get out there and help.. ya know?

BTW, how’s your thyroid? Mine is still a pain but it has not gotten worse. I stay on my meds faithfully. I haven’t tried to see what would happen if I stopped the synthroid only because I’m not sure I want to go there. It’s a horrible feeling when you can’t stand without feeling you want to pass out from being so tired.

I’ve been meaning to ask you.. do you struggle with your weight at all because of it? If so.. are there some food choices that those of us with hypothyroid should gear up for when we are trying to lose weight? I’ve been working out on a regular basis and my endurance and strength is better.. just having a hard time taking off the pounds. The inches are coming off very slowly (I think) because I was actually able to put on a pair of size 12s the other day but I still have to verify and make sure that they were not mis marked in the store. lol

    Any thoughts?
