There are Cancer Survivors against the HPV Vaccine, Go Figure!?

I have never heard of a cancer survivor being against the HPV Vaccine. The girl has had cancer and she doesn’t think it’s right for people to get their girls vaccinated against a virus that can cause the types of HPV that can turn to cancer which happens to be one of the leading deaths in women.

Nobody said that people shouldn’t do what they think is best for their girls and for their family. I would just hate to think about what you will tell your girls (if you have them) why you didn’t choose to vaccinate them should they come down with a fatal case of cervical cancer later on in life.

My friend wrote up this post just the other day called: And why shouldn’t we vaccinate our daughters?Safety of the HPV Vaccine via the CDC. No, I don’t believe I’m late in the game on this discussion. If anything, the HPV vaccine discussion is OLD NEWS on my blog. All you have to do is look through my “Crazy Hot” category to see all the HPV posts that have been done on my blog.

She also followed it up with:

I believe the thing that set off Jo was the fact that G is telling everybody to insert their pathetic lame excuse into the blank spot on her blog post. I think Jo has a very poor case of taking something personal and acting on that in the most foolish manner possible. She acts as though G were talking to her personally and pointing the finger at her. Jo never really did come out and say what her pathetic lame excuse was for not getting her girls vaccinated.

I’ll tell you what my pathetic lame excuse is for not getting my girls vaccinated yet. It’s because I’m waiting for my insurance carrier to cover the cost. I believe I’m about there because we have a different insurance policy and my daughter is about to have a physical because of cheer leading next year. So it’s just a matter of time before she has the vaccine.

I love it when people accuse me of being close minded on issues but when it comes to debating the facts they resort to name calling and what have you. Hey, if you are choosing not to vaccine your girls then that’s your choice. I am pro-choice when it comes to stuff like that so I don’t have a problem with your choice. I do believe in my honest opinion that not to vaccinate against the types of HPV that can cause cervical cancer is a poor choice and do wonder what pathetic lame excuse that you have for not doing so?

That is my opinion to which I am entitled to share at any time of my own choosing. Oh and it’s never too late for me to throw my hat in the ring. What I would like to know from you is why on earth would you be so set against this cervical cancer vaccine if you yourself know just how much trouble cancer can be?

You might want to do your homework on the HPV vaccine before you make up your mind that it’s not a good thing for our girls.

Wow, all I would have to do is point to my answer to your comment on my blog. I don’t even have to say anything new because you haven’t either. But I will just this once and just for you.

There will be no “pathetic lame excuses” so I don’t have to give you or anyone else one. The same as your friend, you seem to think that just because I don’t agree with YOUR views and YOUR stance on this that I am wrong.

Hypothetically (since that is what you and your friend are basing the future on) What will your “pathetic lame excuse” be when the FDA does a recall on this vaccine and your daughter asks you why you made her get it?? Let me guess, you don’t have to think about that because it will just NEVER happen, right?

I have a feeling you can’t even be openminded enough to answer that without (like Ms. G) saying that those of us and our daughters who choose not to get the vaccine are wrong. In fact, she even stated that she had posted that to stir up shit but I’M wrong for responding?

That’s what is so sad. I didn’t do a post stating that anyone who gets the HPV vax is going to have to give their daughters pathetic lame excuses later on for blah blah blah. All posts like this do (and my comments if you choose to post them) is show that you just want to be hateful because some of us don’t agree with you. That’s it. You’re not making anyone else want to hurry out and get the vaccine and you’re definately not shaming the rest of us into getting it.

What you also failed to see because AGAIN you didn’t read through the posts is that we did our research, we talked to health professionals, and my daughter chose to wait on this and I am respecting HER decision. If she comes to me tomorrow and says she would like to get it then I will take her to have it done because I know that she has information from both sides and feels it is right for HER.

There are no pathetic lame excuses to be had but thank you and G sooooooooooooo much for worrying about us there. Get over it already. I don’t agree with the two of you. I DID take G’s statement personally because she directed it to people who didn’t have their daughter’s vaxed of which I am one. Not once did I tell either of you that YOU are wrong or make rude assumptions.

I took issue with the statement she made, I addressed that statement, and neither of you ended up being worth actually discussing an issue with unlike Julie who was kind enough to provide links to posts showing her research and she DOES agree with the HPV vax by the way.

Yes, there are plenty of cancer survivors who are against this vaccine and especially against forcing it on people, my sister would be one and she has gone down the whole HPV and cervical cancer road plus has two daughters. If her mind changed tomorrow would I slam her for it? No, I would ask if she’s thought about it enough and then respect her and her daughters’ wishes.

Some people are not sheeple. Get over it. Some people are well informed and choose the less popular path. Get over it.

Enjoy the comment because as I said, G and I already did this dance and I’m not interested in playing games with you people anymore. Do what you want for your daughters and I commend that but keep your views and demands off MINE.

“What I would like to know from you is why on earth would you be so set against this cervical cancer vaccine if you yourself know just how much trouble cancer can be?”

Unfortunately for you that’s a really stupid question considering that I said in my posts and in this comment that I’m not set against it. We’ve just made the informed decision not to go with it at this time. *sigh* Would you people learn to read please? This makes for really stupid back and forth nonsense.

    In answer though…

Because as someone with cancer I’ve seen the damage that rushed and even thoroughly researched vaccines, drugs, and treatments can do to people. I’ve seen people so afraid of dying that they will try anything the FDA or supposed “experts” will push on them and then I’ve seen them still die, still get sick, and at times get sicker and die even faster. BECAUSE I’m someone with cancer AND my daughter has already had one cancer and could very well develop adrenal cancer later on due to genetics, I know to research until my eyes burn, then discuss with my children, and then go with our hearts.

BECAUSE of that there will be no need for excuses.

Now enjoy the comment, enjoy your day, and go find someone else to play with because repeat typing is killing my hands. Thank you for thinking of us though even if done rudely.

There are three types of cancer…

1.) by choice (ie: smoking, tobacco, and I’ve recently learned by sex *tongue in cheek*)

    2.) genetic or predisposed

    3.) karma

I’m one of Jo’s readers, and I have to say, incorrectly paraphrasing what someone else said is actually lying. She never once said she was against the vaccine, and having read about her cancer issues, I’d take her advice before listening to anyone who is more interested in stirring shit up than in being honest.

The HPV vaccine is very new. There has been no chance to study the long term effects of this and similar drugs. The vaccine does not prevent or cure all cancers, it’s efficacy still has yet to be completely judged and we have no idea what sort of long term issues may arise from the use of these drugs. We’ve also seen very recently that FDA oversight is often very lax, too often dangerously so.

I have no daughters, but my life is full of women and girls that I love and care deeply for. I would hope that all the women in my life take the time to do the research that Jo has done so that they, like Jo and her children, can make an informed decision.

And if your blog hits are more important than honesty, then your big problem isn’t ever going to be sickness of the body.

Jo never really did come out and say what her pathetic lame excuse was for not getting her girls vaccinated.

I’m afraid that you can read. Jo said quite clearly that she wasn’t going to force more chemicals into her daughter’s body without her daughter deciding what she did and didn’t want. Whether you agree with their final decision or not, it was there.

oops, that should have been CAN’T read. My fingers were going too fast.

I never could understand that either. It is similar to someone being FOR abortion but AGAINST killing baby seals.

It just doesn’t make sense to me!

Oh wait until they come out with a vaccine for HIV. You think they are going bonkers over gardasil. What really gets me is this vaccine works against CANCER and Genital Warts. First they were bitching that the scientists were not working hard enough OR fast enough. Then when there has been PLENTY of testing, trials, and such.. we finally have a vaccine that works for this issue and the snivlers come out of the woodwork to complain about how it’s their choice. Nobody said it wasn’t their choice. My friend Gayla posted about how she felt there were pathetic and lame excuses out there for people to use in order to avoid having the vaccine administerred. I’m thinking that those who chose to read her blog decided to take it personal and twisted it into a billion pieces. I hope that they mandate it so that insurance companies have to pay for it. The people that choose not to take advantage of the oppourtunity certainly don’t have to. They can do whatever they want.

I’m glad to see that there is much discussion going on about Gardasil. I’m very happy about this vaccine but that’s not new to those that know me.

I’ve had a chance to calm down after getting all fired up a few days ago and would just like to say that if you are not going to take advantage of the benefits of this vaccine that’s fine. As long as girls everywhere are protected and safe then I’m happy.

I plan on getting my girls vaccinated. The 15 year old as soon as humanly and financially possible and the two little ones when it comes time to go to junior high. The way I look at it is just like every other vaccine on their shot records that they need to have. I don’t mind adding this one to that record.

Please don’t shove your stance down my throat and I will try and remember not to shove my stance down yours. People are talking about this cervical cancer vaccine - that’s a good thing!!
