John Edwards has admitted that he had an extramarital affair with a former videographer in his presidential campaign and repeatedly lied about it.

In an interview airing tonight on ABC’s “Nightline,” the former North Carolina senator and Democratic presidential contender acknowledged the affair, which came during a campaign in which he stressed the importance of family and in which his wife, Elizabeth, who suffers from an incurable form of cancer, played a prominent role.

Edwards dismissed the allegations of an affair with Rielle Hunter as “tabloid trash” after they surfaced in the National Enquirer. Although he now admits the affair, he told ABC he is not the father of Hunter’s 5-month-old daughter, as the Enquirer has charged. He said Elizabeth Edwards did not know that he had a secret late-night meeting with Hunter last month at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California, as the Enquirer reported.

Is it really any of our business? It’s not as if he’s the President of the United States receiving a blow job in the oval office, right?

I don’t think it’s any of our business really - but I do have to say that my opinion of him has fallen to a new low. In as much as I think McCain is an assbag for what he did to his ex-wife when in her condition - I think Edwards is an assbag because he was worried about getting his rocks off while his wife was fighting for her life.

Basically - I’m thinking more and more that there are very few men out there that can say no to temptation. I don’t care who they are - but I do think that being able to say no to temptation when it’s associated to their dick sure gives insight as to what head they would run the country with - or even the office they were elected to run.

That’s interesting.. so are you saying that because John McCain had an extramarital affair that Obama is more equipped to lead our country?

All this political crap has really got me going. I personally don’t want someone who is lying to theirs wife and having affairs being my president. This is because if they are lying to their wife and not keeping their promises to their wifes what makes you think they are going to be honest with you and keep their promises to you??
