You have the dimwit act down pat, bright. Reminds me of a story a friend of mine told about his job at a junkyard. He said I wouldn’t believe how dim his co-workers were.
Every morning the boss would line up the workers and tell them exactly what he wanted done that day. One morning after the boss finished his instructions, one of the guys said, “OK, but what do you want us to do?”
ok, forgive me if i’m mistaken here, but, here’s why i ask…
“This administration never said that the 9/11 attacks were orchestrated between Saddam and al-Qaeda. We did say there were numerous contacts between Saddam Hussein and al-Qaeda.”
president bush, 2004
therefore, why are we in iraq, instead of catching the murderers who perpetrated 9-11?
i just want to know how angela thinks we’re after murderers linked to 9-11, when our entire focus appears to be on the wrong country. feel free to chime in, junkyard lawyer man :)
Ok Miss Brightly Bright – what makes you think that there is only ONE terrorist responsible for all terroristic activity?
Do you think that terroristic activity is only about 9/11. Terrorism has been going on for years. 9/11 was just the mother of the more frequent plots as per the last 10 years or so.
i said no such thing. i just believe it’s wrong to use other people’s deaths as an excuse to send folks to war.
the people who died on 9-11 can’t speak for themselves. would they be happy that we attacked an unrelated country in their name? i wonder.
you make an excellent point. terrorism has been going on for years. let’s address that instead of pissing off a bunch of people who hadn’t even done anything to us.
Oh, so you’d take an article written in 2005 by somebody in the UK and throw that into the mix just to make yourself feel better about the whole terrorism discussion?
Go back to the time line. Study it. Memorize it if you think you need to. Terrorism is not just September 11, 2001. There are sleeper cells everywhere, plots foiled, and terrorist leaders everywhere and not just Iraq.
Why do you think the rest of us are getting irritated with our government that they have not secured our borders?
President Bush has been promising to help secure borders since he was in office down in Texas.
That’s the one thing that irks me as a President can’t be perfect in everything.
When are you going to wake up and smell the coffee Miss Brightly Bright? Open up your nostrils and smell what’s going on in the world. Don’t just look at things from your point of view.
Perhaps it’s you that need to be a bit more open minded. Especially since you don’t understand military operations, secret service techniques, the screws and bolts of what it takes to keep people safe.
Try and enjoy your weekend. I know I will enjoy mine.
“Why do you think the rest of us are getting irritated with our government that they have not secured our borders?”
honestly? because i think you’re easily frightened. our borders have been porous since this country’s inception. we have benefited a ton from the cheap labor. here’s my heritage:
“The Chicago Post wrote, “The Irish fill our prisons, our poor houses…Scratch a convict or a pauper, and the chances are that you tickle the skin of an Irish Catholic. Putting them on a boat and sending them home would end crime in this country.” http://www.kinsella.org/history/histira.htm
it is why i keep asking you to describe what you fear. i do not fear people arbitrarily… it’s like what you wrote about guns. i support the second amendment because people generally are law abiding. i do not want to treat you all like you can’t be trusted. please, give me a reason to fear immigrants. we could have busted the hijackers at any time before 9-11. that system is failing us. there were dangerous people here who we ignored at our peril. but they still had to plan for ten years and rely on our optimistic systems. why isn’t it the administration’s fault for not taking those immigrants more seriously? that was bush’s audition on immigration for me.
i say this as a texan. what are you referring to? he championed healthcare benefits for noncitizens there. you do mean gw, right?
Amen!
then why aren’t we trying to catch the murderer?
Oh but we are going after THEM.
who?

Save it to your favorites as it’s pretty clear you didn’t have enough history in school.

and thanks! i had a great weekend… i hope yours was excellent as well.
Look, securing our borders is the responsible thing to do. It has nothing to do with fear OR being afraid OR fearful.
It’s kind of like defensive driving. Just because I’m defensive doesn’t mean I am afraid to drive.
