My Favorite Person was on Display

Barack Obama was front and center at Pottery Barn Kids. LOL Yep! lol :] It’s ok. I flipped through the book. It’s to be expected that everything Barack Obama would be front and center. After all, he is the first black president our country has ever had, right?

Hopefully after these next 4 years black people (and white people) everywhere will stop with the foolish racist remarks, and racism, and race-card playing and baiting, eh? One can only hope. I know I do.

My Dad grew up with two water fountains in his school. One for black people and one for white people. We don’t have that any more. People have got to realize THAT and make the most of their opportunities, ya know? Hard work, perseverance, no excuses, PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY — did you listen to his speech yesterday? I thought it was really very good.

My friend Becki made a great point today on Twitter. She basically said how can Barack Obama talk to our kids about the importance of paying attention in school and doing your homework when he himself didn’t pay attention when he was in church for 20 years listening to the racist reverend Jeremiah Wright?

I was not happy with the curriculum that the department of education had included with Obama’s speech to our children. It’s not about children helping the government. Yes, everything Obama said yesterday was good BUT the company that he keeps is what turns me off. Our children are supposed to be advised by him when the company he keeps is less than stellar — CROOKS, RACISTS, DOMESTIC TERRORISTS, people that believe 9/11 was in inside job, those that think we would be better to adopt policies that communist countries use?

I don’t think so.

    Amen, sister!

People need to realize this is not a black/white issue. It is not a race issue. I was happier than anyone to know that a non-white, non-good-old boys person was finaly elected president. It was historical indeed, and a moment in history that America should be proud of – proud that we overcame the racism. Aferall, skin color is just pigmentation.

All I want for this nation is a competent president who believes in what this nation stands for: freedom, hard work and endless opportunites. What happened to the Constitution?

I could care less if the president is a man or woman, is black, white, yellow, purple or blue. Just give us someone who knows what in the heck they are doing and is a decent, reputable person who surrounds themselves with other decent reputable individuals.

Obama keeps company with shady characters and apponints them as “Czars” in his own Whitehouse. And what is a Czar? In Bulgaria, Serbia and Russia, “Tsar” was the official title of the supreme ruler. A supreme ruler who does not have to approved by Congress? Hmmm…. kinda shady, Mr. President.

Bottom line, Ms. Divapalooza, the Barak Obama book is definately not a book I would buy anyone I know with children from Pottery Barn Kids.

  2. Juan Marshall says:

    From Wikipedia…

The ‘czar’ title was first used to refer to an appointed government official in a Time Magazine article in December 1973, referring to William E. Simon’s appointment as the head of the Federal Energy Administration.

    Who appointed this ‘czar’?

    Richard Milhous Nixon…

You may not like who Obama ‘hangs’ with; heck, I don’t like them all either, but to insinuate he is communist for naming someone a czar is a stretch.

  3. Juan Marshall says:

Upon further research, FDR was the first to name czars, and presidents following him have continued the practice, Republican & Democrat. My point remains valid, however.

  4. Angela says:

Yes, but who are these “advisers” OR “czars” or whatever you want to call them? Did you read about VAN JONES? Van Jones was a communist 9/11 truther. Do your research on VAN JONES. Thank goodness he stepped down!!! He had no business being in a position of advising the President of the United States.

Knowing his background and praising him anyway, Barack Obama appointed him to his team of “advisers” OR “czars.” These people have no business serving w/out some sort of confirmation hearing. They are crooked little crooks.

On top of THAT Barack Obama is going to pretend he didn’t know all about Bill Ayers, encourage our children to pay attention to their teachers in school yet he couldn’t pay attention to his pastor, the racist Jeremiah Wright at church, and he’s not aware of the background of his own czars?

I’m glad you are looking this stuff up Juan. Kudos to you for sharing it with me. I’m glad people are participating in the educational process of figuring out how all of this works.

  5. Juan Marshall says:

Van Jones was a poor choice. He was lkely somewhat qualified for his job, but in this day & age, they should have vetted him more. (sound familiar?) I have no beef with him being gone.

My point was critizing Obama by implying he started the title of czar to tie him to communism is incorrect. That is all. If you want to disagree with Obama, there are better arguments than “He’s a communist! He called him a czar!”

  6. Angela says:

Why does he have to have so many of them? How come they don’t have to be confirmed? How come the background of these Czars is being overlooked? If Barack Obama is not inclined to lean towards communism then why is he looking to people who are communist to advise him?

  7. Juan Marshall says:

Again, you are trying to draw me into an argument that I am not disagreeing with you on, but just to refute the “why so many” argument:
    President’s name Number of
    “czar” jobs
    Franklin Roosevelt 12
    Harry Truman 6
    Dwight Eisenhower 1
    John F. Kennedy ?
    Lyndon Johnson 3
    Richard Nixon 3
    Gerald Ford 1
    Jimmy Carter 2
    Ronald Reagan 1
    George H. W. Bush 2
    Bill Clinton 7
    George W. Bush 31
    Barack Obama 32

This is clipped from wikipedia, but it would appear that Bush II oversaw a huge growth in the number of czars.

Here is my point again: I don’t think you’re wrong! I don’t think Pbama is always right!
BUT THERE ARE BETTER WAYS TO PUT IT THAN PAINTING HIM COMMUNIST BECAUSE OF THE “CZARS!”

Call him communist because of socialized helath care (which he is not espousing in his speeches, but I know that’s not enough to disprove his ultimate goals to those who disagree with him).

Call him communist because you think he wants to take all your money and give it to the poor.

Just don’t call him communist becausee he named someone a “czar”. It makes the argument look weak.

  8. Angela says:

I think I understand what you’re saying now Juan.

    [[hugs]]

BTW, your wife cracked me up on FB the other day when I posted my fortune cookie fortune.

Ok… the thing with these “advisers” “helpers” “czars” whatever they up on the big hill want to call them … I think they should do a better job with the background checks and maybe let our elected officials interview them too. (I know you agree with me on this … I saw what you wrote.)

Do you agree that Van Jones was … shall we say … corrupt? Oh never mind … I just remembered that you said Van Jones was a poor choice.

What are your thoughts on the good reverend Jeremiah Wright and/or Bill Ayers? (I’m curious.)

  9. [...] My Favorite Person was on Display – I am not happy with Obama. He is not doing a very good job. His foreign policy skills suck and his priorities are all mixed up. I don’t like being lied to. [...]

  10. Angela says:

I think we can all admit by now that Obama has not chosen very good advisers at all. The latest controversy dealing with the school czar and his support of the group that thinks it’s ok for grown up men to have sex with boys is – NUTS.

  11. Angela says:

The mainstream media is not talking about anything of relevance any more. The only place you are going to hear about these things is on Fox News. You know … the people that are willing to report ALL of the news and not just the news that aligns with their political stars?
