My coffee cup broke but that’s ok because YOU made my day AND you do it A LOT!

If this is any indication how my day is supposed to go then I am in BIG trouble. I picked up my coffee and as it was lifting up off the desk, the handle separated from the cup. It startled me and then I was very afraid because coffee had fallen into my keyboard.

My brother says that if I think I’m going to have a bad day then I will. I’ve decided I’m not going to let this little sign dictate my day. I’m going to do something that I think will jinx it!

I made someone’s day yesterday! When I read what she wrote about me on her blog it made me feel special. Here’s what was said about me:

Angela at Domestic Divapalooza - Angela is one of those bloggers that shoots straight from the hip. I adore her as a blogger because she ignites something in me and my writing that I never knew existed. Had it not been for Angela I’d have never realized just how important my one vote is! Since meeting and becoming friends with Angela, I’ve exercised my American right to vote and have taken a much stronger interest in learning politics and a focus of issues that are important to me. - Gayla at Guerrilla Parenting, a b5media blog.

The following bloggers make my day A LOT:

1. Dr. Laura makes my day A LOT on the radio AND on her blog! - All you have to do to understand why this woman makes my day is read what she wrote recently. Here’s an excerpt of part of her most current piece:

I feel sorry for all of those whose military-age sons and daughters have not volunteered for military service, but instead hook up and smoke dope in most of our quite liberal colleges and universities instead of learning the values of life and death, honor, sacrifice, courage, brother/sisterhood, and compassion.

To whomever defaced my representations of support for America’s finest, I have this to say to you: in spite of your disgusting, ignorant, cowardly self, my son and his band of brothers would still protect you. - Check out the rest! You wont’ be disappointed

2. Gayla of Not Before Coffee - I’ve known her since before the last Presidential Election. She is one of my best friends! Not only does she have a way with words but she taught me that it’s ok to just be myself, even on my blogs. Everybody has their quirks and I certainly have mine and that girl accepts me for who I am,quirks and all. Good friends like her are hard to come by but I’m glad that God was gracious enough to figure out how to put us together in spite of our locations on the map. (Gayla is in Indiana and I’m in Nebraska)

3. Heather of Things to Talk About - I have a lot of love and admiration for this blogger not just because she is my sister-in-law BUT because she has this nack of being able to share how the Bible affects her in her every day life. What I mean by that is she can take something that she read and tell a story about something that happened to her that made her think of what she read in the Bible or what God was trying to say to her. She doesn’t post every day but when she does you can bet her posts will be interesting which is why I get excited when my news reader picks up something new from her.

That’s all I have for now. You can participate in handing out this award if you want to! There’s no specific way to do it. Just pick a few bloggers you would like to honor and write about them! I’m sure you will make their day in the process!

Thanks for the mention. It’s not looking like this election is going to be nearly as much fun :( *sighs*

    Although historical - it’s still rather Ba-OR-ing

What a wonderful spin to a broken coffee cup day! From the heart, this is the type of writing that makes you stand out. I’m a big fan of Dr. Laura’s although, I haven’t heard her in years. She’s not available locally. I could probably head to her site–yep.

    You are an inspiration.

You guys are the best! Thank you for encouraging me and for leaving a comment. I love comments.

You are SO right Pickel — I need a stainless thermos to keep my coffee in. That would certainly keep it piping hot. Especially when the kids are constantly calling me away from my desk.

Thanks Calivin — You’ve got me googling martial arts today. Talk about expanding my brain and wrapping it around martial arts. I’m about to learn something new I’m sure!

Hey Gayla — Feel free to stir the political pot while I’m away. You know me, I don’t mind controversy OR healthy discussions.

Cindy — I love that photo that you posted. I’m assuming those are your children and that it’s in your neighborhood. I love how the trees are all bigger than the houses on the street. I am guessing that the houses are not all close together either. That’s so nice!

You know I love you too Heather!! I can’t wait to see you guys in June.
