I choose to know my HPV status
Posted by angela on 07/11/07 in Domestic Ramblings
I choose to:
1. Empower myself with information about HPV and its link to cervical cancer, as well as my own HPV status.
2. Get a gynecologic exam each year.
3. Ask my doctor for the HPV test along with my Pap to protect myself and give me extra peace of mind (once I’m 30 or older).
4. Tell my friends and family about the importance of regular screening for cervical cancer, including getting the HPV test along with a Pap.
I choose to know my HPV status because in doing so, I am taking control of my own cervical cancer risk.
Visit www.theHPVtest.com for more information and HPV updates.

Bravo!!!! What an awesome statement of empowerment.
Several decades ago I had cervical cancer - evidently I was getting odd test results (but not odd enough because no one ever told me, one day I looked at my folder and said what does this mean — the doctor at the clinic said nothing you are too young to have cancer (I was 19) — I scrapped up the money to go to a regular doctor and within a couple of weeks I was in the hospital with hysterectomy I had full blown cervical cancer that had started spread.
A hard lessonto learn - but our health is our responsiblity. And always double check the doctors.
Health and happiness, Lady Rose

I hope I never get any type of cancer and especially not the cervical kind OR the kind that invades your blood.
Thank you so much for your kind words Lady Rose!

Lately I have been trying to find any kind of information for my project, but unsuccessfully. Now it seems like I finally found a lot. This is the greatest site among all internet-sources.
