Questions??? Do you believe that global warming isn’t real or do you just object to Al Gore proselytizing about it? If it isn’t real, does it still take away from our Christian duty to be good stewards of the earth?
Hi Becki — thanks for the link. Does the link say what Obama turned his thermostat up to? What do you all keep your thermostat on in the winter time?
We’ve been keeping our thermostat on 68 so far. Sometimes we bump it up to 70 but today I knocked it back down to 68.
Hi Lara — glad you enjoyed that!
Hi LaDawn — I object to anybody attempting to make money from hot topics like “global warming” etc. Of course it’s our job as Christians to be good stewards and not just of the earth.
I bring up stewardship because when I watched An Inconvenient truth, the main thing running through my mind was “why aren’t Christians up in arms about this?” God gave this earth to us to manage and we are doing a horrible job (even if global warming is not real). The money argument you bring up is interesting because I am not normally prone to conspiracy theories (I leave that to my hubby) but I believe that some politicians have used “science” as a euphimism for “anti-God”. They are then able to unleash the so-called “evangelicals” in a war against anything deemed scientific. Why is that important in the discussion about global warming? Because the main opponents of cleaning up the air, the water, and their act, is business and industry. They don’t want to give up their big money. Making money off of conservation in the long term is fairly difficult if you think about it. Once the initial investment is made–think CFC lightbulbs or reuseable grocery bags, there is no money to be made. If we use less electricity or ride our bike instead of our car, energy companies make less money. Energy companies give a lot of money to politicians and have been very influential in determining public policy on these issues. Rather than get bogged down in these issues though, I decided to focus on what I believe would be most pleasing to God. I think others should to. To me, being a good steward means using only what you need and not wasting. It means keeping the earth in as close to the condition as when God gave it to us. I would be a liar and a hypocrite if I told you that I did not depend on and enjoy many of the things that are harmful to the environment–driving, computers that suck up tons of electricity, etc.) but I can do my part to minimize the impact. I also know that God has endowed the human race with an incredible capacity for invention and ingenuity so I feel remiss if I dont’ support efforts to encourage exploration of other ways of providing us with the quality of life we currently enjoy but not at the expense of a clean earth. I think the current argument about whether or not Global Warming is real or how big an impact it has is an intentional and destructive distraction.
I didn’t see anywhere where it said what the exact temp was, but it says it is like tropical in there – which is insanity!
We keep ours at about 68. We have a pellet stove that we use during the day and then just turn the heater on at night.
Do you think Al Gore is just trying to make a buck? I kinda thought that at first but then I watched An Inconvenient Truth and it shows that this has been his passion since before I was even born. I wonder how much he made from all of this? I really have no idea what his agenda is with it all – I do NOT believe he should have won the Nobel prize for it though.
Did you catch the Glenn Beck radio show today? Unreal – Gore is taking the ‘let’s get the kids’ approach, and it’s infuriating! Al is beyond evil, I’m tellin’ ya…

Global warming is real, it has been for tens of thousands of years. Not sure what the big deal is now… Clean air is good, saving energy is good, but to what extent should we be depriving ourselves to?
Everybody talks about how important it is to be good stewards of the Earth, and I don’t disagree.. BUT.. what about being good stewards of our finances too? After all, aren’t we supposed to give back to God first what he has entrusted us with? After all, He is our provider and we are supposed to trust in Him. So how many of you good stewards of the Earth give back to God? How about prioritizing our time and our talents to helping the most poor in our society? Who is the most poor? The unborn, the homeless, the abused? Barack Obama has said that if we would make sure our tires were inflated then that would allow for better gas mileage. He said this back when the gas prices were sky high during his campaign. Talk about missing the mark on the billions of dollars that are wasted on gas because there are not controls as to how much we are willing to spend on gas. Barack Obama did not believe in exploring ways to fuel our country without having to depend on those that hate America to gas our cars, etc. Does the Earth’s climate change? Of course it does. Will it stop? Or course it won’t. Who is in control? God is in control.
I do not believe that Al Gore should have won the Nobel prize for his movie OR his efforts with regard to our environment.
LOL!!!!!!! I love it!
You can see here that Obama really cares so much about being “green”

LOL Think I have found me a new MSN profile pic. Awesome Diva. -spcghst440
That’s a good one! And, because he has the Nobel Prize, we’re supposed to believe every theory coming out of his mouth. I don’t think so!
Oh my goodness!!! That’s a crack up!!!
At least now we know why the earth is supposedly “heating up”. It’s all of Al’s “hot air”. :)
This is a funny…and TRUE one! ROFLMBO!

Sorry Global Warming is 100% complete lie to the American people. Al Gore is a scam artist.

That’s great! I love it.
And his receipt of the Nobel Prize just chaps my hide. What a ridiculous waste!
It’s not an “inconvenient truth” but a completely convenient lie and it’s used to snow one over on the general public who have no idea.
But anyway . . . thanks for always telling it like is and not backing down. ;-)

Gore is a chucklehead.
