Did you see the Pregnant Man on Oprah?

A transgendered man in Oregon recently announced his pregnancy in The Advocate magazine. (ABCNews Photo Illustration)

I’m not so sure that I believe that there is a man out there that is pregnant.

This pregnant “man” that was on the Oprah Winfrey show doesn’t look like a man to me at all.

I know how they say that you’re not supposed to judge a book by it’s cover and in this case I don’t believe that I am.

If this person were a man then why are their reproductive organs belonging to a woman inside his/her body?

Anybody can have their hormones altered but that still doesn’t change your organs totally, does it?

This is NOT a man giving birth.

This is a WOMAN giving birth.

Please don’t get me started on this!

found you via Twitter. I’m glad there’s still people out there who believe in gender. This kind of stuff drives me crazy. Keep up the good work!

It’s a woman who changed her outward appearance to be that of a man–even down there I believe. However she kept all of her female reproductive organs. To me that means he is not giving birth–but she is. You can’t “really” be considered transgendered if still have remanents of the other gender.

I hate that the media is making a big deal about this, it’s not like it is a biological man giving birth.

If you’re born with a penis, you’ll always be a “man”, no matter what changes you make. If you’re born with a vagina, the same goes. I understand and believe that some believe they’re “in the wrong body”, but honestly, no matter what you do, you’ll always start as whatever you came out as.

And yes, that’s a FEMALE having a baby, not a man. She/He/whatever chose to keep the uterus to have a baby, and most likely, to get publicity, like he/she/whatever is getting.

This is about a woman who would prefer to be a man, having a baby… nothing more or less!

The mainstream media beat up about it is getting a bit much!

    Great post!

Hi Cory!! Thank you for the encouragement. Yes, I do still believe in gender and the parts that come with your gender. I’ll be stopping by your blog in a little while to check it out. So glad you found me via Twitter. I like Twitter!! :)

Hi Shannon!! I agree!! This isn’t a real man giving birth to a baby. Men are NOT equipped to give birth. It was never intended that a man should ever give birth to a baby. I a bit perturbed that Oprah would go there but I guess I shouldn’t really be surprised that she did.

Hi Sarah!! I totally agree!! :)

    Hi Allen!! Thanks!! :)

This whole subject ticks me off because as you said it is NOT a man, it is a woman…geesh!

Top 10 Reasons Pregnant Man Needs I-Lighter…

With all the challenges Thomas Beatie faces, he could truly benefit from a tool like i-Lighter. In addition to all the many uses chronicled here, his unique situation lends itself to the following 10 top reasons:…

I was touched by the pregnant-’man’ – mania myself. I deliberately wrote about it because I couldn’t just close my eyes and pretend it doesn’t happen. It’s sad how manipulative media can be, sometimes! Sad and scary! That is not a man, clear as daylight! I was so enchanted by that family’s normality, I closed my eyes to everything else!

This is just further evidence of the downspiraling of America, further and further into the muck.
…And dare I say, it’s also further evidence that Oprah is slowly evolving into Jerry Springer.

I’m glad to see that others feel the same way I do. I, too, said to my husband, “This is not a man having a baby!” For the same reasons you did…she kept her female reproductive organs, though outwardly she has the appearance of a man. Who is she kidding? And, I ask…if, whatever your reason may be for wanting to change to be a man from a woman, why would you keep your reproductive organs? Why would you want to still have PMS? Why? Why? Why? Baffling!

My mom said something interesting, which my dad blogged about recently, so I thought I’d share.

Basically, we’re all agreed this is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. “Thomas” is just as much a woman as Eve. What boggles my parents’ mind (and now mine) is why people are so selfish as to deny a new child the intimate joy and love of nursing at mama’s breast.

(Notwithstanding, there are many unfortunate people out there who are physically unable to breastfeed and thus their children must rely on formula and baby cereals. I’m not talking about those who are unable. What gets my goat are the mothers who starve themselves and let their milk dry up so they can be thin again, or don’t want the inconvenience or embarrassment of nursing. These people should have thought more carefully before breeding. Can you tell this angers me just a little?)

My husband and I had a miraculous child only 7 short months ago, bud had feared due to the complications of the pregnancy that I’d be unable to feed my son naturally. Thankfully, there were no problems there, and I can’t imagine missing out on the wonder and beauty of gazing at my son while he nurses.

I feel sorry for the child…he or she will never have that bond with Mother. That thought breaks my heart.

  13. angela says:

Hi – about the breastfeeding stance, I don’t believe choosing not to breastfeed if you don’t want to is necessarily a bad thing and it hardly makes a mother a bad parent.

  14. Katy says:

“Transgendered” is the key word. Gender has to do with identity. Sex has to do with physical characteristics.

It has nothing to do with you. It can’t even hurt you.
