At-Home-Drug-Testing, have you tried it?

I had no idea there was an At Home Drug Test that you could buy OTC.
I happen to be spring cleaning my house on this cold cold day and heard about it via the Dr. Laura talk radio show.
How cool is that!
The results are supposed to be 99% accurate for those common drugs that can be found on the street.
I’d be curious to know if any of you out there have actually used this At-Home-Drug-Testing on your kids and if so, what came of it?
If you haven’t used this type of testing on your kids OR teens would you consider it? Why OR Why Not?

I’m not too sure about it. I like the idea, though. Great for those who think their kids might be using something. Direct proof is hard to deny.

I do not have teens - yet - but it is interesting. I cannot tell you what I would do. I may change my mind when my kids start school!

I think if parents suspect that their kids are being sneaky and doing drugs then this would be the perfect tool.
Like Sarah said.. direct proof is hard to deny.
BUT.. I also think that parents are either good at parenting OR they are good at sweeping stuff under the rug.
It’s what you do with your teen once the results come back proof positive.. that will make the difference in their life.. OR not.

I worked at a drug an alcohol rehab center where we had a contract with the probation department to test persons there were 3 types of tests, what I would call the dip stick, the eye dripper and the patch. They work much like pregnancy tests or PH test (except for the patch)
Aka Dip stick.—cup (or cartage) with one or more strips, after the cup is filled the cap that has the embedded strips is placed on the top (or dipped in), each strip test for a class of drug, THC (pot, hash), Opiates, amphetamines, etc. two lines is positive… one line only negative. A tempter strip to check heat or urine in container.. create or creatine test levels to make sure they are not “flushing”… drinking large amounts of water to dilute.
Aka eye drop – same thing but an eye dropper to drip on a cartage with holes.. yuck
Patch—looks like a patch to stop smoking, Anti tamper.. warn for a week to a mouth, than removed and sent to a lab for testing.
These tests are extremely reliable.. any positive test that I ran in the 5 years I worked there. When verified by the lab after using one of these for mass gas spec. it was always correct.

These are just the commercial non bulk… my understanding is they run from $20 to $30 but that was more 5 years ago.

meth Is the hardest to detect as it can be out of the urine in as fast as 12 hours possibly less depending on metabolic rate

I just used it on my 15 year old. Thank God it came back negative. She snuck out of the houselast night and came in at 3:45 a.m. I did the test at 9:30 a.m. I used the 12 drug one.
Good kit…easy instructions, thorough manual, etc.
Also can mail in results to their if you are in question.
