Hey Angela, I think there are a few definitions of a twitter snob. Many other citizens of Twitterville have their own definitions as well. A twittersnob may be:
1. someone who never follows others but has a million followers
2. someone who follows you back and then immediately unfollows you just to get you on their list
3. someone who says DM me but has no intention DM you back and doesn't
4. someone who is just there to bash other twitters
5. someone who is only concerned about their twitter rank
6. someone who only promotes themselves or their products
7. someone who never @replies and just asks questions
8. someone who uses an automated twitter posting service and has no intention of engaging with their followers

Follow and unfollow at will because you are there to connect with people, share interests and relative content, but be real. Be a human who wants to participate. Twitterland has an unspoken law...only nice people can live in Twitterville.

Thanks Angela,
All the best

jaysontcote.com - (Interesting plug you have there) My thoughts on Twitter Snobs. First I would have to ask you what constitutes a twitter snob?

For me, I decided a long time ago that I was not going to follow somebody on Twitter just because they were following me. I think it's important to connect with folks on Twitter that you share common bonds with. With that said, I will tell you who I follow and who I do not follow on Twitter.

I follow those that fill out their profiles completely. Completely meaning that they write what they are interested in, what their politics are, what their beliefs are, etc.

I do not follow those that do not fill out their profiles. I also do not follow those with whom I do not share any common interests. If you have set up your Twitter to sell something, I won't follow you. If you set up your Twitter to market yourself only, I will not follow you. If you are a spam twitter OR a "how to" twitter, I'm not interested.

Katy, I am already following you. But then again, you've got a pretty good profile filled out. I think we may even share some common ground.

Mike Perez, I think how you fill out your Twitter profile is key.

I cannot stand Twitter snobs.

Just today, I went through and spent a couple of hours trying to get my "balance" back. I purged a bunch of people who no longer follow me or followed me for one day and then dropped me to pad their numbers. Also, those who I follow and never did follow me back, I dumped.

I give an exception to Hugh Hewett and Michelle Malkin and others who are big names and cannot possibly follow everyone. That would be too much to manage.

I Twitter mainly for political reasons and to discuss sports. If you are into sports or conservative politics, follow me and I promise to follow you back.

Follow me here: http://www.twitter.com/katys

If you are trying to sell me something, forget it. If you post a skimpy photo of yourself, I won't follow you either. Male or female!

Hi April! Nice to meet you! I'm glad you're not a blog snob. I've had to distance myself from those in the middle of their inner blog me me me cliques. I do my best to try and treat people the way that I would want to be treated. I tend to stay away from those I don't feel comfortable around. Especially if my gut is telling me to. Every time I ignore my gut, I tend to get in trouble.

I found your blog by Googling "Blog Snob"
Great Blog by the way!!

I found a blog from and friends blog and made a comment because I happen to know the girl and her husband. I told her who I was and that I really loved one of the post she did about her new Dyson. She NEVER even responded. She had no other comments, and I really thought I was just being nice. Go Figure. I keep a blog just so that the family out of town can keep up with us. I would never snob anyone who left a comment by not responding.

Not A Blog Snob,

Hi Karen!
Thank you for stopping by and sharing your thoughts on the concept of blog snubbing. I don’t always have time to post comments on everybody’s blogs BUT I do try and visit the blogs of the bloggers that have visited me. Thank you so much for offering to make up an anti-blog snob button. I think it will be a lot of fun. I’ll be sending you an e-mail shortly to see what you have in mind.

Hi Bradie!
Thanks for stopping by. I agree, sometimes blog snobs can and do take the fun out of blogging. Especially the ones that run within this closely knit circles in the hierarchy of the blogosphere.

Hi JaniceNW –
I don’t think having an opinion on a topic should necessarily be construed as being judgmental. Sure it’s important to look in the mirror and do our best to fix ourselves but that doesn’t mean we can’t discuss politics and religion and talk about where we are at with today’s world issues. Thanks for voicing your opinion on this! :)

This was interesting. I had not thought about things in quite this way. I just hope I haven't thrown up all over my blog at any point! (wink) I do tend to leave the typical controversial subjects alone. I just don't want my blog to be about politics, different religious beliefs etc. I'm Christian and proud of it, but I make a true effort not to judge anyone but myself.

Thanks for making me think today.
