About Government Healthcare in Canada

July 13th, 2009 by Angela | Filed under Ramblings.

I insist that you watch this entire video before you grace my blog with your comments.

Steven Crowder actually went to Canada and sums up in fair terms exactly what is going on over there. I can totally understand why regular Canadians flock to the United States of America for their healthcare.

To put it bluntly… Canadian Government-ran healthcare, also known as socialized healthcare SUCKS.

After you watch this video… tell me something… do you still think Obama is moving us in the right direction?

But, that’s Canada. It can’t happen here. ;)

The places I’ve seen “free medical care”, like the middle east, the situation is even worse. Imagine a Canadian system where everything is filthy dirty, from the floor to the bed sheets to the Doctor’s clothes. Get those DC phones burning, but I don’t think it will help. Socialism is coming to the US like a juggernaut.

Try to stay healthy if you can. If you have a chronic illness, as I do, squirrel away some gold and silver coins to pay for care on the sure-to-come medical black market. Ironically, the best buy in gold these days is Canadian Maple Leaf coins.

Keep in mind also, that the good Doctors who flee countries with socialized medicine must go somewhere. There are excellent private hospitals in Thailand, for example. Some of my uninsured friends have gone there for surgery (double knee replacement), and even extensive dental work. They give glowing reports and the prices, including air fare, beat having it done here by far.

Off topic, but I also note the effect of the two-language system Quebec. Everything runs more smoothly when all communication must be preceded by negotiating a common language. At least the Francophones’ feelings are preserved, and that is what counts in liberal land.

It can’t happen here, though. Right? ¿Hablas español?

What amazes me is how quickly we go from “it will cost less because everyone will get the preventive they need and lessen the need for emergent care” to “don’t get sick on Sunday” and it will take 2-3 years to even get a doctor whose available for a checkup. Do they even have well child check-ups in Canada? What about treatment for common birth defects? This isn’t the first time I’ve heard this from Canadians, so the video wasn’t surprising but it does frighten me for the future of our country when our leaders will not listen to REASON and VALID arguments against a universal health care system.

There is a lively discussion going on about this video over on my facebook page. Feel free to chime in over there too if you are on facebook.

Thank you for sharing this video. Most people don\’t believe what they read in a periodical or hear on the news or radio, but what takes place in this video seems fairly irrefutable.

My husband & i are self-employed and pay for our own healthcare. We used to have PPO or similar plans, but our rates kept going up, even though we are fairly healthy people, we hardly ever see a doctor, and use preventive measures against becoming ill. We now have a catastrophic only plan, have set up a medical savings account, and only pay cash(which often avails us a discount for services) when seeking medical help.

Under Obamacare(socialized healthcare), we won\’t be as bad off as some, but finding a doctor, and then being able to afford the higher, private rates, may become much more difficult as we are not wealthy people.

My hope and prayer is that the American people will wake up to what Obama and his cronies are doing to this great nation. We are different and should be proud of being better at some things and just being free and independent!

May God bless America, the greatest nation on Earth.Thank you for sharing this video. Most people don\’t believe what they read in a periodical or hear on the news or radio, but what takes place in this video seems fairly irrefutable.

Don’t know what i did to repeat my comment, so many times. Sorry. :(

It’s the definition of insanity continuing to repeat actions and then expecting a different result?
    Vets medical care?
    Social security?
    Medicare?
    And now Obamacare!

And it may just not matter because we will all be wards of the government.

The average length of unemployment is higher than it’s been since government began tracking the data in 1948.”

  8. Great video, thanks for sharing it! I’ve been an RN for over 30 years, and don’t understand at all why anyone would think the government can manage health care for all of us. It doesn’t make any sense, for one, looking at all the other things the government runs. Secondly, health care is too important, too personal, and too private for me to want the government involved in it.

Why can’t others understand that is beyond me.

    Great blog!

This is the type of healthcare my dear friend “annie” wants our great nation to have. What a flippin’ joke.

  13. [...] About Government Healthcare in Canada – When you talk to people from other countries that know first hand what socialized healthcare is all about be sure and get your information from people that you don’t know. You know… those folks who are not biased to your own political slants here in the United States. Facts are facts and it’s hard to be open to the facts if you are blinded by those who share in your lack of knowledge of those facts. And no, that doesn’t make me an extremist conservative republican. When you take a look at the honest truth of what is happening to our nation it’s hard to deny it no matter what side of the fence you choose to sit on. Before long you won’t have any choices left and if that day comes I don’t feel sorry for you. [...]
